To See Through the Eyes of the Other

They say that true love is not just about being with someone in good times, but about seeing their soul even when they’re not near you. True love begins when you learn to see the world not only through your own eyes, but also through the eyes of the one you love. To feel their joy as if it were your own, to understand their pain even in silence.

“For this is the greatest kind of love: to see through the other’s eyes, deeply. And when they’re not with you and it hurts, to feel their eyes crying through your own…”

To love means to be there, even from afar. To carry within you the memory of their gaze, to let your heart beat in rhythm with theirs, even when distance seems to threaten the bond. Love does not always require physical presence; it lives in small gestures, in thoughts that meet in the air, in emotions that touch without words.

There are moments when the one you love goes through pains they cannot express. And then, if you’ve truly learned to see them, you feel within you a tear that is not yours, a restlessness that doesn’t come from you, but from a soul that has become your home.

This is deep love: to carry the other within you, not as a burden, but as a light. To be attentive to their needs without them having to speak, to understand them without long explanations, to embrace their longing and sadness, even when only silence remains between you.

The greatest love is not loud. It does not always seek reassurance. It is lived in silence, in glances, in a presence felt beyond distance and time. It weeps when the other weeps, smiles when the other smiles, and stays alive, no matter how many obstacles stand in its way.

Perhaps love is not about finding someone to complete you, but about becoming a mirror of their soul. To see, to feel, and to live the world through their eyes.

As the quote says… to truly love means to see deeply through the eyes of the other, and even in their absence, to feel their tears flowing through your own.
